Mechanism for Marketing of Minor Forest produce (MFP) through Minimum Support Price (MSP) and development of Value chain for MFP :- A scheme sanctioned by Ministry of Tribal Affairs (MoTA), Govt. details of India

Objective of the scheme:-

  • Development of value chain for MFP
  • To ensure fair returns to the MFP gatherers
  • To protect the Tribal MFP gatherers from exploitation by Middlemen
  • Socio economic development of Tribal MFP gatherers

Main features of the Scheme:-

  • Scheme to be implemented in States having Scheduled Areas and Scheduled Tribes
  • MFP Coverage of 12 items namely: Seeded Tamarind, Honey, Gum Karaya, Karanj Seed, Mahuwa Seed, Sal seed, Sal leaves, Chironjee Seed, Myrobalan, Lac, Tendu Leaves and Bamboo.
  • Working Capital Contribution
            Central Government   - 75 %
            State Government      - 25 %
  • Scheme to be implemented by State Nodal Department (SND) and State Procurement Agency (SPA)
  • JASCOLAMPF - Notified as State Procurement Agency for Lac
  • Procurement through Primary Procuring Agencies (PPA) like Primary Co-operative societies/SHG’s/ JFMC’s / LAMPS etc
